Eva Liberal was born in El Ferrol at the corner of the northwest part of Spain. The place where she grew up has had a certain influence in her paintings, because the countryside is very green and rocky and the seaside is only a few minutes walk from her doorstep. She paints forests, flowers, seas, beaches… and many places around with some of those elements.

After getting her University degree in Economics at the Complutense University of Madrid, she should have begun a career as a business woman. “But I’ve learned to walk with color pencils in my hand, so, honestly, the day I finished my career and had to start working with it, was the day that I realized that I also had to give painting a chance. And I didn´t have time to regret that decision!”
Eva has also been teaching classes and, for the last 15 years, has made a living of it.

For advancing her own art skills, she attended workshops with Joseph Zbukvic in 2011 and 2013 and with Liu Yi in 2015.

Eva has also assisted at various workshops in Spain with very good Spanish watercolorists like Manolo Jiménez, Francisco Castro, Mendo and Idoia Lasagabaster. Being an active member of Acuarelistas Avanzados in Spain for the last three years has been a real challenge to Eva, making her work more than ever and giving her the chance to get in touch with many other artists, which is, by her opinion, one of the best ways to keep advancing, exchanging ideas etc.

Eva’s first solo exhibition was in 2006 and many others have followed that one. Her artworks are held in many places around the world, from Australia to California, New York, England, Germany… and Spain, of course. ”Painting is a long and exciting path that never ends.”
